Hi! I’m Zaynab. During my time at Reading, I have developed an expertise in editorial and branding design. I always aim to create strong visual narratives and meaning behind my work through design thinking. Along with this, I ensure that my work is backed up with user research, allowing me to create outcomes that are both visually engaging and meet the needs of the intended audience.
Low Res is an independent magazine all about the unapologetic world of punk design. My magazine aims to celebrate the designs behind the revolutionary punk subculture that often go overlooked, such as hairstyles, badges, jewellery, and more. DIY is a large part of the punk subculture, which is why I embraced imperfection. From hand drawn mastheads and letraset to askew text and grainy halftones, issue 1 of Low Res celebrates the chaotic and rule breaking nature of punk zines.

Packaging
Selected Scenes from the End of the World is an album by London After Midnight. For the repackaging project, I decided to focus on this album’s theme of dark romanticism, featuring Psyche and Cupid on the front cover, as well as across the deliverables. Alongside this redesign, I created a lyric book, cassette, and tour poster.
