Branding and persuasion

Global Goal 1 focuses on the issue of ‘No Poverty’. Going into more depth on the issue, period poverty is a prominent problem for many women. The branding aims to raises awareness about period poverty while challenging related stigmas. Inspired by the recycling symbol, the arrowed blood droplet across deliverables represents support for accessible, reusable menstrual products, highlighting the need to break the cycle of poverty. Typography, such as a menstrual cup replacing the letter T, reinforces the focus on sustainability. The animation uses these elements to create a cohesive brand, as with the leaflet cover including the tagline in a way to create an image of a pad

I am, we are: Different by Design

Editorial

The ‘I am, we are, different by design’ is a zine created by students, published by the Department of Typography & Graphic Communication. Created as a real jobs, The project aims to inspire a conversation by representing a diverse set of perspectives and experiences within the School of Arts and Communication Design. For issue six, Different by Design challenged the previous A5 format from the last issues. Multiple zines were chosen to create a more intimate outcome to communicate the personal experience of students.

Within the Inclusion and community zine, the chosen typefaces feature on the zine and in the poster display previous master students of the department that are POC. Using this with the survey results shows both positive and negative experiences while being realistic through discussing work and learning within the education environment.
