Hey there! I’m Harry – an ardent graphic and digital designer who has specialised in designing excellent digital user-experiences. I also have a personal interest for designing and crafting unique vinyl record concepts. During my time at Reading, I have developed a keen interest for crafting specialised digital user experiences for a multitude of desktop and mobile systems. I firmly believe in the importance of user research as the central practice for any design – big or small.
For this project, I set myself the challenge of designing a new mobile app to support users who suffer with Narcolepsy – a chronic sleep condition that affects patient abilities to control their sleeping habits. Turtl helps users to better manage their condition by setting personalised goals and wellness activities which promote better sleep habits and schedules. The app also provides users with the ability to track their sleep, giving users access to helpful sleep reports and statistics which help users for managing their symptoms of narcolepsy. I most enjoyed creating a turtle mascot for the app, which was a design direction I had not taken before. ‘Butter’ (or whomever the user chooses to name it) is a supportive buddy who provides support and encouragement for users for managing their condition.

The 1975 – Live At Their Very Best In this design competition project, I set myself the brief to completely reimagine and redesign The 1975’s live album: ‘At Their Very Best: Live From Madison Square Garden’. The live album now includes select singles from the album – now recorded across two seven-inch records; housed in a deluxe hardback photo-book. The reimagined record-book contains lyrics, quotes and photos of key moments from the live show.
